Couple Arrested For 6 Pounds Of Marijuana And Steroids
Eric Moore, 27, of Jonesboro was arrested on October 8 after an investigation by Jonesville police. Police believe Moore - who has a murder warrant on his record - was involved in the sale of marijuana and steroids, the Arkansas Department of Public Safety said. Officers later smelled marijuana in the house and obtained a search warrant. Two people - Eric Moore and his girlfriend - were arrested after their home was searched where Moore found six pounds of cannabis, steroids, and weapons, as well as a handgun and ammunition.
Behind the sink were two USPS mailboxes still taped off and addressed to 500 Hunter Ridge in his name. Shelby and Eric stated that the package had been sent to the wrong place and that they wanted to return it, "the affidavit said.
Police also found three vacuum cleaner bags containing 2,722 grams of marijuana in a kitchen cupboard, police said. Another box contained a canning jar containing 36 grams of marijuana and another box contained a bag of weed and three bags of marijuana, "the police affidavit said.
Officers also found a .380 pistol in a bag hanging from a chair on the kitchen table and another gun on a bedside table in the bedroom. Police then searched the gun cabinet and found two handguns, two assault rifles, and a semi-automatic handgun in another bathroom, police said in an affidavit.
Moore was arrested for possession of Class I or II weapon containing no less than two grams of meth or cocaine and possession of a Class III weapon. He was also arrested for possession and distribution of controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and a violation of the narcotics law, according to police.
Stokes was arrested for possession of Class I or II weapon with no less than two grams of meth or cocaine and no more than one gram of heroin, possession, and distribution of drug paraphernalia, and a violation of the narcotics law, police said. Stokes, a former North Carolina State Police officer, was also arrested in connection with the discovery of Class III weapons that included meth, cocaine, heroin, and marijuana, as well as paraphernalia made from meth and cocaine.
Shelby Stokes, 25, of Jonesboro was arrested on October 8 after an investigation by Jonesville police. Moore was being held on a $350,000 bond, Stoking on a $150,000 bond.
